Instrumental Version - Audition

Jesus Christ is risen today / Christ the Lord is risen today
2009

About

This audition of the instrumental version of Easter Hymn now includes a prologue. This arrangement began life more simply, as a descant for a children's choir in 1993, with various brass configurations beginning in 1994. All versions were re-edited in 2009.

There are two rendered versions: one (A) utilizes only two trumpets and timpani (for those short on cash or space), and (B) an arrangement for five part brass choir (trumpets, trombones and horn) plus timpani.

As these are rush mixes, there may be (OK, there are) slight phase errors where sf2 voices aren't precisely in sync with GPO-sampled voices. Blame the software, and get real musicians! Please pass on your comments and suggestions by sending me an email.

Sound quality varies depending on your player, software, and listening gear. The dynamic range spans from deep bass to very bright highs. Equalize accordingly.

The 5-part version has been EQ'd for iTunes (mac or pc). Save and open the mp3 in iTunes, then go to Window -> Equalizer window and select 'Classical' or 'Flat.' Tweak as necessary.

This will sound much better when heard live!
