For Emily Claire Maurand

About

New! Originally a figure in the symphonic suite The Planets, by Gustav Holst, Thaxted was later arranged by the composer as a hymn tune. He gave it the name Thaxted, after the English village where he lived for many years, and was founder of an annual music festival.

You may print and use the descants you find here free of charge for church use; however, these are copyrighted materials and cannot be used for commercial purposes without prior written consent. The Michael Perry text shown in this version is under copyright and is used here by permission of Hope Publishing Company; full copyright and license notification is at the end of the score.

Instrumental version available, a three-verse arrangement for harp, oboe, strings, optional timpani, and organ. Email to arrange for rental
